I teach 3-4 yr olds and I know they wouldnt be able to do it on their own, what I am doing wrong? Or what could I do differently to teach what you did, so they could start to do it on their own? And what a fun way to assess retention of colors. I did something similar with the alphabet. We made a food book and my 4 year old cut out photos of food for each letter of the alphabet. This was a long-term project and she also like calling it her menu. She would have me order food from it.
