In February we celebrated Dental Health month with some fun teeth activities for both classes. We we also lucky enough to have a dental hygienist from a local dentist come and talk to us about caring for our teeth.
The three-year-old class made our mouths with 10 teeth in it. They also made happy face full of marshmallow teeth--how healthy is that? Of course their favorite fun was brushing the egg "teeth." They get such a kick out of making those eggs white again. This year my eggs were still in one piece--imagine that.
The Pre-K also discussed good dental health, and we combined it with good foods. We are going to be visiting our local Giant Supermarket to continue healthy foods. We started by having them create a Me Book page about their favorite foods. The children had brought pictures from home and glued them into their book at school.
For a craft I had the children paint toothbrushes--with a toothbrush. I had cut out a large rectangle, then gave the children a toothbrush to paint with. When their toothbrush handle dried they needed to add the bristles. They cut some slits in a white rectangle and glued it to their toothbrush.

How did you do the brushing the eggs activity?
Hi Ms. Jessica,
To do our egg activity, I hard boiled the eggs. Then I set two in fruit punch, and two in cola. The children put toothpaste on a toothbrush, picked out an egg, brushed it, then rinsed it in a bucket. They love it!
