Halloween Hurrah

Hi everyone. I'm sorry this is late, but I've been a bit swamped lately. Mom and Dad, please forgive me for not getting this out sooner.

We had our big Halloween celebration on Thursday. The children all come to school dressed in their adorable costumes. We have a parade and then they entertain the audience with some great songs and poems that they learned. This is our first presentation and they did just wonderfully.

We had some messy fun too. A parent sent in a Halloween "lollipop" cookie kit for the children to make. The could make a pumpkin, skeleton, or as they said, a goblin. Mrs. G--I thank you so much--got good and messy helping the children put together their yummy treats.

I made "jack-o-lanterns" with the children. This was our first experience with the scissors in a formal manner. Boy, was I impressed. They did such a beautiful job. About half the class had a good idea of how to use the scissors. These jack-o-lanterns always bring a big smile. The children love to carry them out to show mom and day.

I hope you all had fun trick-or-treating.
