Way back in mid-February I was contacted by the creator of the literature based curriculum, Itty Bitty Bookworm. She asked me to take a look at her curriculum and let her know what I think. I must interject here that I am greatly honored that people feel me worthy to review their work. It is a humbling experience and I hope I do them justice.
As I said this curriculum is literature based, incorporating some of the greatest books out there for children. The curriculum is a gold mine of information and materials. There is so much material, I'm not sure if I will get to it all.
The programs are put out in monthly CD's with ALL the planning done for you. Your job is to focus on your little one and enjoy the activities you will be involved with. Again, a big plus for me is the emphasis that this is a curriculum based on making learning enjoyable. The monthly CD's include all one would need for 4 full weeks of plans: objectives, patterns, materials, printouts, etc., etc., etc. The list goes on and on.
There are two separate curriculum titles: The Bo Curriculum for ages 3-5, and the Bailey Curriculum for ages 18-36 months. In the upcoming month, April, I plan to incorporate some of the ideas from the Bo Curriculum and I will post back to let you know all the fun we are having with it. Meanwhile, take a look at this great site and even a sample plan from her site. If you click on the worm below it will take you to a page, find the worm, click on it and enjoy the sample lesson she created.
