Edible Cherry Trees

I have one more President's Day activity on hand. I haven't gotten to do this one, but it is one using food and you know that's always fun for the little ones. I don't have any pictures so I hope you can picture this in your head. (I drew a VERY rudimentary picture to help you along:).

For the project you will need:

graham crackers
peanut butter or marshmallow fluff will work
red & green food coloring
paint brush
cookie cutter--shaped like a tree, or flower that can be painted like a tree

Give each child a plate and a square of graham cracker. Have the children break the graham cracker in half so that they have two rectangles. Have them use the peanut butter or marshmallow cream to glue the graham crackers to the plate like a tree trunk.

Next give them a piece of bread and the cookie cutter. Press the cookie cutter into the bread to make the tree top and "glue" this to the plate.

The final step is to paint the tree with the green food coloring, then dot with the red.--Yum, Yum.
