The other day when I still couldn't find Ivory Snow laundry detergent, I was surfing for some other texture paint activities. I found one that has a lot of potential, although I still need practice with it.
This recipe for sparkle snow paint was at www.kidnkaboodle.net/paint.html.
The recipe calls for:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water
Mix all the ingredients together and put in a squeeze bottle. The recipe says that the mixture will be doughy, mine wasn't too doughy, mine was a bit like pancake mix. I had my son make a snowman with the paint. He squirted out paint making three balls. Now here is the part where I know I didn't make it quite right. The snowman took a little more than 2 days to dry and the water came seeping through the other side of the paper. (I guess I could have added more flour). I also think that the paint was applied a 'little' too generously on the paper. Maybe it could have been spread with a brush?

I wanted to share this recipe with you though because the end product is really gorgeous. The creation really looks like snow, it's very sparkly. The site says that you can paint right over the creation after it dries, or decorate how you like. My son finished his up by adding a few snowman features. Good luck.

I tried to get a few pictures up close so that you could see the sparkle. I hope the effect comes through.

Love your site! Thanks for dropping by mine. I haven't spent much time on it the past 6 months. We've had a lot of transitions. I trying to get back into the swing of things though.
thanks for the idea, it looks very fun!
